Carousel War Horses - 40" x 30"

Oh how this painting took me on a ride. This is the third painting on this canvas and the last of a series of six canvases of this size. It is also the fourth Primitive Horse Painting completed in the growing series and it beat me up! And I enjoyed every minute. The background is inspired by primitive cave art, the colors inspired by the TV show Yellowstone's opening and the horses finally landed (there are seven layers of paint on them) when I was being told a tale of a trip to Disney World. Bang - I thought these horses are the perfect Carousel horses and how fun to place them in a cave setting with Native American War Horse markings. 

This painting is HEAVILY textured. I was able to use a Dremel sander to expose the veins, and that is how heavily textured it is!

Carousel War Horses was the fourth completed painting of the Primitive Horse Series - completed in Fall of 2022 in my Asheboro, NC studio.

Original painting is 40" x 30" x 1.5" (101.6cm x 76.2cm). Acrylic on primed canvas, two layers of UV protective clear varnish. Certificate of Authenticity and Artist Information on back of the painting.
