The Inspiration A Child’s Tale is an invitation into a world of wonder and uninhibited creativity. This piece explores the narrative of our earliest memories—where colors were bold, shapes were fluid, and every mark on the canvas told a story of its own. It is a celebration of the whimsical motifs that defined our youth, reimagined through a sophisticated, modern lens.I  felt like a child again painting this. It reminded me of a new box of crayons, how special they were, the colors and the smell! I had no idea how this painting would evolve, but I wanted to work with whimsical architecture and a medieval port city feel. The three globes were originally part of a different vision but the working of them into this narrative feels right. And small horses in the background before a full moon adds the drama I was seeking. The small boats in the harbor enchant me the most.

Provenance & Display Completed in the Winter of 2024 at the Holly K Fine Art studio in Asheboro, North Carolina. This original work is currently unframed, featuring a deep 1.5" profile that allows for a contemporary, frameless look or custom framing upon request. It includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity and Artist Information on the reverse.
